The next round was much tougher, as PSG faced the winner of the league phase, Liverpool. The quarter-finalist was decided only by penalties, in which the Parisians proved better (winning 4-1). Paris Saint-Germain fought for the semi-final against Aston Villa and defeated them 5-4 on aggregate (3-1 at home and 2-3 away). So it seems that PSG is lucky with English opponents this year...
